Feeling Settled

It's been a couple of crazy weeks. But after returning to work and a somewhat familiar routine, I'm feeling more comfortable in the new place, and happy. We still have many boxes laying around, and bare walls, but we have the majority of necessity out and in use. The kids are loving the new place, love the backyard and their new rooms. As I am typing this the little girl from next door is over getting a tour from Amberly and it's so adorable to listen to! Yes, the neighbour girl is starting to make herself at home here too! This is only her second visit, but she does walk right in when I answer the door. She's in the middle of Caleb and Amberly age wise. She will be in Amberly's class which is kind of nice.

This little community is pleasant. We've already attended an ice cream social to meet the neighbours, there's free tee-ball every Wednesday for the kids, and for a $1 you can catch a bus to Fergus and go swimming! Next week when the school opens I have to go and get them registered and then that's pretty much it. Our summer in a nutshell was life changing! ha ha ha.

We did enjoy a few days away from the chaos and enjoyed Port Elgin. My friend let us stay in her cottage which was just a blessing, and gave a great little get away. Days at the beach and even seeing Deb and Shaun for a day was so much fun! So much fun, we need to make a point to do it more often I think :)

Baseball is almost all finished, I'm done and Dave finishes this week. Then we pull out the activity book to see what we can enrol our kids in. We think we'll try the Learn to Skate program. I may even put Amberly into Zumba for Kids! I love zumba!

Anyway, I better round up the kids and get them into bed. I want to catch up on some tv!

All it Takes is Support

I am so thankful for all the support we have. This past weekend could have been insane, crazy and heartbreaking, but because the support of family and friends, it was enjoyable and dare I even say relaxing? Thursday night Dave's parents picked Caleb up and took him to their trailer. Friday morning after running to the bank and lawyers office, I took Joel to my parents house and Amberly to Steve and Sally's place for the weekend. They were all separated, but I think that made their weekend extra special because they each got treated in special individual ways. When I got back from dropping the kids off, I met Dave in Alma at our new place. Then after doing a little bit there, I then ran back into Elmira where I made a purchase of a vacuum and a few odds and ends to take along to the new place. Then back to Alma I went where Dave and I primed the boys room. My brother Benji then showed up with the sandbox stuff in his truck. He helped with some painting and then we headed home to Elmira for a nights sleep. 8am in the morning Benji came back to Elmira and along with the help of Dave's friend Steve, the guys took down the swing set while I did a quick tidy and clean of the place (the purchasers were doing their final walk through later that day) We then spent the rest of the day in Alma, setting up the swing set, and sand box (priorities eh!) and painting the boys room and toy room in the basement.

Christa (Steve's wife) swung by for a tour and to drop off some needed cookies to snack on! Then once the rooms were completly painted we all called it a day and headed home. When Dave and I got home, Dave mowed our lawn and then we got cleaned up and actually went to the movies to watch The Dark Knight Rises which was so great! I love those batman movies! Sunday we packed up the van again, made a trip into Home Depot and headed back out to Alma where we did some unpacking and odds and ends before my family arrived with our kidlets. The kids had a blast running around the empty house and playing in the big back yard!

Today we did some shopping in Walmart and Canadian Tire and then Dave headed to Alma with Caleb while I stayed with Amberly and Joel until Joel's nap was over. Once we arrived in Alma, my parents were back there with Benji. Dad and Benji moved the receptacle for our dryer up in the wall so we could stack our appliances. Fern and Mert also stopped in to see the place. It was a beautiful day out, so all the windows were open and we were airing out the place.

The next two days will probably be stressful, but by Wednesday night we will be fully into our new home.

I can't thank my family and friends enough for all the help and support and encouragement they have all been.....
