Anticipation

I'm really looking forward to this weekend. Dave and I are going to Parry Sound to my...Mom's cousin's cottage resort. I've been up there a couple of times, and this time Dave and I are going with Steve and Christa and Kris and Shannon with baby Mason. I just pray that the fall weather will cooperate and that it will be nice with lots of leaf colour and I may even be gutsy enough to jump into the lake!

Last night the pastor was over for a visit. He said he's been wanting to see Dave and I for quite some time. So he did. I was pretty nervous about it, I don't know why, I think because I wasn't certain about things he would ask, I think I imagined him asking me how my transition has been and moving away from home. That question can still get me pretty emotional, but he didn't ask any such thing. He wanted a tour of our house and then we just sat and visited, it was really nice actually, he had many stories to share.

Dave just got home from the volleyball meeting. What he told our team was that it wasn't a very competitive league, but now he's saying that times have changed and he thinks we'll get slaughtered. Oh Wonderful Hope!

Happy weekend here I come!

I am So Tired!

Wow, I'm so glad this weekend is finally over. Although I cherish my time away from work, this weekend just wasn't one I looked forward to.

It all started with Friday, and my trip to Orangeville. God has many wonderful ways of communicating with us doesn't he? I haven't heard from Tracey for the longest time, so I was looking forward to seeing her at BookLore when I went. But before leaving Elmira I had to run home to put clothes in the dryer. For some unknown reason I checked my email, and low and behold, there was a note from Tracey. She updated me on everything, even the gossip of the store. After reading it, it made my heart clear in knowing that asking Nancy to work every other Friday was not meant to be. What made it even clearer, was the actual visit. So many details to get into, but in the end was just happy in seeing everyone again and catching up. Especially Tracey, I miss her so much! I also got to hang out with my Mom and Dad and Benji, we did places like Home Hardware, Walmart, Canadian Tire and even Future Shop. Then we have Harvey's for supper.

Saturday was my final ball tournament. I got injured. But that's not new now is it! I was playing 2nd base the whole time, and one guy came up and drilled at me (the ball on the ground) and I couldn't get my glove down fast enough and bang it hit right on top of my ankle, I could have easily burst out into tears, it hurt so bad, but I didn't have the choice really, Kris quickly asked if I was ok, and I fighting the tears could only say, "yep" and Steve told me to walk it off. Oh the pain. THen what made it worse, was I then screwed up 2 plays right after that, and I did have tears at that point because of the pain and the stupidity. But luckily no one saw those, and Suzanne made me feel better by saying that no one noticed my screw ups, but I'm certain they all did. I wouldn't even let Dave ask me or console me because I knew I would get into the "uncontrolable tears". Luckily we had a huge gap between games and I was able to ice up my ankle at Shannon's for a good couple of hours to play our last game. I'm good now, just a bruise is appearing.

Last night, a bunch of us went to watch church league hockey, it was fun, Monica and I made up stupid cheers for our team and she brought "You Suck" posters, which is pretty mean, but in that instance when she showed me, I could see Lesya for a split second. I couldn't resist and I held it up a couple of times!

Today was another crazy day. First of all the neighbour was up partying until 5:30AM this morning I was so mad. It's hilarious how in my tired state, I conjured up plans of revenge, like ringing his doorbell at 7am over and over again and hide on my porch as pay back. I even asked Dave in the night if I could yell out the window to them all, "Don't you have any respect, for us and yourselves, don't you think you're too old to be doing this kind of crap." I even wanted to call the police I was so mad! ahhhhh. Anyway I was up at 6:50am because I forgot to put my lunch in the slowcooker the night before. Then I had to be at church at 9:15am for Sunday school. I only had 2 kids this week, it was a nice start. Then church followed right away. THen home where my Dad and Benji were waiting and I had lunch ready for them, and then I took them to the Home Hardware Fall Market, which is like going to a Home show, but it's for all the Home Hardware dealers to come and order things to sell in their store, its' a huge event, and I can go because I work for PIB and am considered an Home Hardware employee somewhat. Then I had to leave them there to back home and get Dave and head to Listowel for Dave's uncle's surprise 50th birthday party. I got to hold baby Mason for the longest time because Shannon was busy setting up and doing lots of things, it was so much fun!

Now I'm home and I'm going to watch some tv before bed.

Is it just that feeling of being overwhelmed?

This week has been high and low. Right now I'm on a high, Dave and I have been talking lots about many things to come, and it makes me so excited. The first to come is colour, we're going to do more painting, as much as I hate it, but what is the most exciting part is, we are going to ask for some quotes to have a painter do it for us. We want to finish our house so it's more of a home.

Tomorrow is my short day, I'm still wondering about going to Orangeville afterwards. I'm still debating whether or not I should ask Nancy if she would like me to work for her every other week. Hmm I just don't know!

Then the procrastinater in me has kicked in! I'm a volunteer for Adventure Club at church every Tuesday night where I'm an actress for the little kids. I play a niece of the main character who doesn't know who God is. So there's lines that need to be memorized. But I figure, they are just little kids, they'll never know if I'm making it up as I go! Then I'm a Sunday School teacher too! For the 4 and 5 year olds! I have to prepare crafts and such for these guys! Yikes I need to get on the ball! There is also Bible study starting up again the end of this month, and I'm co'ordinating a trip to Parry Sound for next weekend and haven't even begun to think about that! When will it ever stop. I have to make up a bunch of invitation cards to my tupperware party for the end of October, I think they will be plain and simple though, I must remember to ask Christa for that "You're Invited" stamp of hers!

Ahhh, all of that to do, and yet I'm here typing this out!

Work has gone by fast this week. I started on the phones, I have no idea what I'm talking about half the time, I spend my time putting people on hold while I run to find someone who can help me, then in turn I get back on the phone and help the customer! It's a learning curve and I must admit I like talking to people on the phone!

Well Dave is on his way to a meeting at church, I think I'm going to prepare for Sunday school and maybe get caught up in Survivor again.

This Saturday is the last ball tournament of the year, I'm thankful for that, but after baseball comes volleyball....

I'm Not an Early Riser

Well here I am, everything is very quiet and I can hear the birds and the crikets. We have baseball starting at 8am so I was going to have to wake up at 10 to 7 but I'm up now. Been up since 6am. I've got something on my mind and a part of it makes me excited and the other part of me makes me doubtful. I want to work at BookLore again. This has been on my mind for a while now. I want to have things my way. So I"ve been seriously considering asking Nancy if I would work part time for her. Here's my idea. Every other Friday I have the afternoons off at Rwam. So I thought that I could make it to Orangeville for 1 and I could work 1-9 those Fridays and maybe once a month or twice considering what I have on those weekends, stay at the farm and work Saturday 9 to whenever they need me.

I've talked about it to Dave and he thinks it's an ok idea. But then I think about it more and more and then I get thoughts like, what if she doesn't like that idea, and what if she doesn't pay me what I want. Plus I don't know what it would be like to work with Brenda, the lady who took my job, everytime I go in for a visit, it's like I'm stepping on her toes and she's not very pleasant towards me. But I could live with that. I love the store at Christmas time, and I would promise Nancy my bit of help until Christmas, and then in the winter, maybe take those snow months off and perhaps return in spring, or not return at all again until the fall. I don't know. Next Friday is my half, so I think I may go and talk to Nancy, tell her my idea and see if she bites at all. If not my feelings may be a bit crushed, well probably crushed a lot, but life goes on.

Lists

I always have a difficult time thinking of things I want to go on my Christmas list, but I've found one thing I want. Lost on dvd. It's on tv right now, the episode when Boon dies. It's such a great show, the imagination that they have is amazing and so appealing.

I've been feeling a bit better, but haven't done much tonight but bundle up on the couch again. Dave is at church doing training for Risk Management, he doesn't intend on working with children, but as a baseball coach and probably volleyball coach, it's going to be required of him.

A nieghbour came to the door tonight inviting me to a party next week. I can't go because I have to be at church for Adventure Club, it's the first night so it's kind of important that I be there. Tonight was also a night that I had a nice chat with my sister. I haven't really talked to her, I mean really talk for a long while. She called to get someone's phone number and then we just chatted, it was nice.

I've seen Oprah these last 2 days, and all I can say is I'm shocked and upset, both episodes I've just cried, the mess down in the US is so amazingly distrubing, and the fact that their government hasn't stepped up kills me! The things that have gone on, and the amount of death there, I don't know, it breaks my heart. It looks like a 3rd world country in New Orleans. Where is their help? I haven't been watching the news or anything, but to see Oprah's take on things, totally took my out of ignorance that is for sure.

blah

I'm sick. This cold crept up on me in the middle of the night, sneaky! I felt rotten all day at work, but managed to make it through, and I've spent the whole night just resting, and I'll take medicine before bed and hopefully I'll feel better in the morning.

Joy THEN Pain and Suffering....

Well I'm back and just awake from a nap this afternoon. This past weekend was lots of fun and getting to know new people and just catching up with old friends. Dave and I picked Jay up on our way to Scott's cottage Friday afternoon. We got there around 4. The weather was wonderful.

It was a weekend full of relaxing and enjoying the company of friends. And water activities OF COURSE!! Yesterday was the day full of activities. After the tradition of going to church and then for ice cream we all got our swim suites on and Scott took a few of us over to a neighbours to borrow a knee board. I told Scott I once in the past was successful at riding on one in a short instant in Australia. So I thought it would be fun to try again. It was fun, but try I could only do, I wasn't able to get up successfully, it was very difficult. After endless attempts I gave up and let Tina give it a whril and she somewhat successfully did it, I was so proud of her. Then we decided that was enough of that, and Dave got the tube out and he got on. Scott kind of forgetting the different length of rope with the tube compared to the knee board sent my poor Dave into the trees at the island, but brave as my Dave is, he held on and Scott feeling terrible fixed his path and as fast as Dave went in, Scott got him out. Scott said as soon as he heard me laughing he realized something was wrong. I felt bad because I did laugh thinking, hahaha, Scott is sending him into the weeds, and then in shock I was like TREES!!! There was no major collision, or anything of that kind, just a few cuts and scraps.

Then I had a turn. I told Scott about my emotion when I first get on the tube. I experience a fear and I always tell Scott to take it easy on me, and he always does, but after a few minutes on it I feel the comfort and my fear tends to go away. So Scott did just that, took it easy on me for a bit, long enough for me to feel comfortable, then he bumped up the speed! I was doing alright until he made two cirlcles in a row, on the 2nd circle I hit the wake of the first circle, and I don't really know what happened. Tina said the my legs were the first to leave the tube going straight into the air and my hands were the last still trying to hang on, but I just couldn't do it, and boom into the water, doing what she seemed to think was a perfect dive, minus the arms entering the water, my face was the first to enter! I know once in the water I did several somersaults along to slow me down. As the boat made it's turn to come pick me up, I was laughing so hard, it was so much fun! I got back on and told Scott to take it sort of easy because my arms felt like they could fall off, and he did, I didn't fall off again, but he told after that he sped up going around the bends, and I answered him with "I know, and I knew because I could feel the tube wanting to lift off the water and me thinking that I had to shift my weight somehow in order to keep in down!"

For all that Joy, comes pain and suffering, I now have a very stiff neck, bruises up my arms, on my legs, and I can barely move my upper body, I have to find someway to accomplish this moving issue because I have baseball in less then 4 hours and I have be able to atleast MOVE!!!

I'll let you know how it goes....

Where's the excitment?

Well it's finally Thursday night and I don't have to work tomorrow, but the joy that I usaully experience on Friday's is not here yet.

I'm still looking forward to the weekend away, and the weather is supposed to be really nice. It will be lots of fun.

I guess I just have lots of things on my mind as September is now here. I still have practically every weekend booked way past Thanksgiving, it's exhausting! But Baseball is now almost finished which is a relief.

Oh dear I caught the end of a very dramatic Coronation Street. Now I don't normally watch it but boy was it exciting! Fire, hit and runs and crash ups, wow!

I filled up on gas last night at 102.9 which was a very smart move, because now it's 126.9! INSANE!!!! Thank goodness I have a Honda!

I think that's pretty much it, cottage here we come.....
