Hi There

It is completely pooring with rain outside. I was going to walk to Shannon's tonight and then we were going to walk to McD's for an ice cream, good thing we didn't walk! It was nice to get out and just have some girl time. It makes a world of difference for me to be out of the house away from my kids for a short bit, it makes me a better Mom. I know it sounds funny, but I'm not wired to be the classic mother who lives and breathes for her children. Does that sound terrible? I don't know how to explain it, but being out and about from them, I get the opportunity to miss them. I love being a mom and I absolutely love and adore my children, don't get me wrong!

I've been watching the Olympics, it's bad because I get hooked on them at night when I know I should be sleeping. Sunday morning at 4am, I was feeding Amberly and I turned the tv on to watch the rowing, well then I got hooked and I had to stay up to see Sarah B. in the women's 8, next thing I know was it was getting close to 6am! I just remember thinking to myself, "Man I'm so stupid, and they only came in 4th!" ha ha ha. Oh well, only one more week of them, then I won't have anything to hold my attention in the middle of the night. In fact, I just won't turn that darn thing on!

We move next Thursday. We've got everything packed up that we can for right now, and Dave is taking next week off. So I think we're in good shape. I don't like living surrounded by all these boxes, I just keep telling myself that by the end of September I should be fully settled and I can start to just enjoy each day. Right now I feel like I'm missing out, life is just all about the move. I'm missing out on enjoying my baby, and I just feel scattered. I can't wait to have life resume to a normal state!

Man I miss playing baseball. I was playing volleyball for a bit yesterday with Dave and I had a blast. So much so that I might look for a v-ball team to join this fall. We'll see. I feel like I have my energy back, I just need to get back into shape!

Sounds like the rain has let up.

House Progress

I kept forgetting to post the pictures of our house has it was going up. I missed getting just the picture of the hole. But oh well. This first one is of the forms that were set before they poured the foundation. This one is of the foundation poured.
Here is the first floor framed.
Then here is the second floor and roof with shingles and insulation.
And here it is with windows, brick and garage doors. I will have to go down there again to get another shot of it with all the brick done.
So there it is. Wow, 2 & 1/2 weeks before we move in! That's insane!!

One Month

Well I am going to try and be faithful to Amberly as I was to Caleb at taking pictures of her monthly birthdays. So here are a few I took of her this past weekend. This first one is my absolute favourite, what I call a "Blow up worthy" one.I Absolutely love taking pictures, I'm starting to look into getting a digital SLR, I think I would have lots of fun with one, but I take so many pictures as it is, I can't imagine how many I would take and love with a new toy camera! The issue is, when it comes time to getting them developed I have a hard time choosing so I get so many done, then later on when I go to put them in an album or scrapbook I have so many shots that are similar! Oh well!

Not much is happening, well packing is happening, we spent the weekend packing up many things. Our house is full of boxes and all the walls are looking bare. Only 3 weeks away! How scary!

Today I had an old friend come to visit me, Tammy from public school. Her and her husband found my place and stopped in for a visit. It was so wonderful to see her. She has the same laugh and it was great to hear it in person again!

Well, I should go and get myself ready for tomorrow, a day with both my kids. Oh ya, today we forgot Caleb's blanket at Christa's. At bedtime I thought I could be sneaky and give him another soft blanket to hold. Well he was hilarious. At first he hugged it, then he pulled it away from him and started to examine it, looking very oddly at it. Then he tossed it to the ground. Then he picked it up again and carried it around. I thought, perfect, it was going to work. But again, he looked very closely at it, and then let fall to the ground. So I thought I better quickly run to Christa's to get his real blanket, so I did. I'm sure he would have been fine without it, but at the same time, I didn't want to run the risk of an interupted sleep tonight. My sleep is very precious to me right now, and anything I can do to ensure a good sleep, I do!! ha ha ha.

Loving My Babies

Well it's been four weeks now that I've had Amberly, four weeks, I really can't believe that. Where did those weeks go? It's been a tough adjustment, but I'm doing o.k. I look forward to getting up and being with my babies, but there are some times that I dread. The days I have both home with me and I know Dave will be out for the evening are long and I don't enjoy that, but I get through it. Caleb is warming up to Amberly all the time, he actually gave her a kiss today, and then he gave me one right on the lips, he's my sweetie. Granted, he has smacked Amberly as well, on her precious head. Both are sleeping right now, and I'm hoping to catch some sleep myself. I've managed to get Amberly on a schedule, where she eats every 7-11-3, she's doing well at it, and now I can be a little more organized and prepared for things with Caleb and going places. I don't enjoy the 3am feeding, she takes her dear time then and usually won't burp, so I get frustrated, but she has always gone back to sleep without an issue.

Our move is only a month away. It's freaking me out. I enjoy driving past the house each day to see the progress, yesterday they started laying the brick. The doors are all on now, so we can't walk through anymore, but we did peak in the front door to see that they have laid our floor tile. I'm still a little nervous, hoping that everything we chose will flow well together.

Ahhh, I can't keep my eyes open so that means I need sleep!
