What Would you Do?

So we had a terrible Saturday night. Our neighbour was playing their music outrageously loud. So at 3:30am, I got fed up and I called the police. In about 15 minutes the music shut off, so I went to the window to see, and sure enough there was 2 police cars parked in the street. Well, the cops weren't even gone when the music came up really loud again! So I took my stuff and moved to the basement to sleep. Well Dave ended up calling the police back at 5am, and reported them again, they said the first time, they just gave them a warning. But then at 6am the music finally shut off, but we later found out that the police didn't come back until 6:30am, when it was quiet. I was in tears I was so angry! The first time I decided to call the cops, nothing happened, we still had a sleepless night! I was all ready to move! Next time this happens, we will be calling every 1/2 hour until something is done, or charges laid. This is our home and I don't care what our stupid neighbour thinks of us! What would you guys do??

Anyway, on a happier note, Friday night girls night was fun. It was good to catch up with everyone. Then Satuday afternoon Dave and I took Caleb to a pumpkin patch. It was so neat. We got a few great shots.

Then Sunday Dave and I left Caleb with Dave's parents while we went to Stratford for the day. We went and saw An Ideal Husband by Oscar Wilde, it was very funny! We parked along the river and walked to the theatre and then after the play we walked downtown to find a restaurant. We ate at Pazzo, it was a pizzeria and it was very yummy! Then we strolled back along the river to the car. We even stopped at Dairy Queen on our way home. It was a very lovely day to spend with my husband. Now it's Monday and things are back to normal! After I'm done this, I'll, be getting ready for a swim with Caleb. And since the weather is so lovely out I'll probably take Caleb to the park after lunch, or after dinner, we'll see how swimming goes, he's not napping right now, so we'll see how the afternoon goes! Tomorrow night I'm going to meet my friend Valerie and go to the movies. I'm really looking forward to that as well!

Ten Months, Ninth Tooth

My little baby is 10 months old! He is getting to be quite the handful. He makes me laugh because his new hobby is trying to lick the t.v. screen, and I always say, "No Caleb, Don't touch." and he laughs everytime I pull him away. And then he bolts back to it. My goal is to be persistant, because I know that he'll eventually know not to touch it. Boy, Persistance is hard work!

Today I was at my parents place and took Caleb's "10 month" pictures. I tried taking them on Saturday, but he was so snotty and drooly, that they didn't quite work. This past Friday was very difficult. He cried all morning, and it was a differnt cry, it was a cry of pain. I rocked him and cried with him, I had no idea how to make him feel better. Christa came by with her ear termometer and thank goodness he didn't have a fever. But it still didn't solve anything. Then talking to Shannon, she suggested teeth. I completely forgot about teeth as an issue, because he already has 8. But I gave him tylenol, and he finally settled down to normal by late afternoon. It wasn't until yesterday that I was able to catch a glimpse of tooth #9 poking through. Poor guy!

Here's a couple of pictures of my handsome baby. Ahhh he's just so adorable!

This last one is especially one of my favourites, the whole drool, snot and tongue view! I take just way too many pictures, then I sit at the computer going through them constantly, over and over again, trying to figure out which ones I want to get developed, which ones I should blow up, and yikes, I end up developing way too many! I love my pictures!

baby it's cold outside

Now this is the type of fall weather I'm talking about. This past weekend was way too hot! Despite the humid temperature we had a great weekend. On Friday night we had Dave's co-worker Rob and his family over for dinner. It was a lot of fun. Then Saturday morning we packed up and headed to my parents. While there Dave and I managed to explore the bush where I used to play as a child. It was so over grown that we couldn't go the way that was once my path. It was neat to check out the water hole with him. Then my parents looked after Caleb while we had a date. We went into Orangeville and watched the movie The Kingdom. It was really good. Typical for me, I cried in it. Not so much because of the story, but because of fear. I caught a glimpse of how life can be for some countries and I worried about the future, and what it holds for our children. Anyway, it was nice to just have a date night out, and Dave held my hand! he he he.

Sunday we took Caleb and my mom to Hockley Bible Chapel for church. It was so great to see everyone. Caleb was the only baby there (doesn't appear to have young families there) so as I was leaving to take Caleb to the nursery, Pastor Mark recruited Treva to look after him for me. Then his wife Kimberley came and helped Treva look after him! ha ha ha. After church we headed home for the Thanksgiving festivities and we also celebrated my Dad and brother's birthday. We managed to get outdoors again and snap a few (like 200) pictures of us and the fall leaves. Here a just a few....

We returned home that night and on Monday we hiked with Mike and Joy on a 7km trail. It was so hot! Then Mike, Joy, Fern and Mert were over for dinner. Dave and I made chili and homemade garlic bread for dinner, and Mike and Joy brought pumpkin pie and oreo cheesecake. It was very yummy.

Yesterday I resolved my baby sitting issue. I met with the lady, Christa is her name. And she seems so great. I'm so releaved and happy about everything. Actually I think this is for the better, Caleb will have lots of fun and attention there. I'm still really nervous about returning to work, the time seems to be creeping up so fast. But Christmas is on it's way too, and that is something I can look forward to.

Big Sighs

These past 48 hours have been crazy! I've been so busy and emotional, I'm seeing double currently and am suffering with a mild head ache. Today I've been on the go. I got up early, showered, got Caleb up and ready for the day and we were at IGA at 8:05am to get the things we need for tonight and this weekend. Then after Caleb's 35 minute nap, I rushed down to the new park to meet Shannon and the kiddies. There I got to visit with Shannon while pushing Caleb on the swing. Then I rushed back home to get Caleb in the car and on our way to work. I had to stop in today so I could chose Caleb's Christmas present. The company lets us go throught the Home Hardware toy catalogue and pick out a $25 gift for your child. So I got 2 things, a Winnie the Pooh phone and bath toys. While there I was surrounded, my child was the centre of attention for quite a while! Then home again for lunch and I've begun the process of cleaning the house. Caleb is supposed to be napping right now, but I hear him chatting away, probably to his prayer bear. Tonight we are having Dave's co-worker Rob and his family over for dinner. That's a lot of work!

Yesterday I was a wreck. I got a message on the machine in the morning from the lady I had lined up to take Caleb for us in December. She left a message to say that she feels she has too much on her plate and can't take Caleb. I flipped out, I cried, I didn't know what to do. I emailed Dave to tell him, then I emailed Lesa to tell her and to get some help. Lesa had recommended this lady to me, so she felt bad, but she came through with lots of names for me to try. None of them she knew, we were going on recommendations only. I again struggled over this, because I didn't know any of them, plus I hated the thought of calling all these people and being turned down, or finding out they have sooo many kids. I called Shannon and bless her heart she said she would take him if we needed her to. But I called only one lady, the one lady who seemed to have the best reviews, and praise the Lord, she said she can take him. I'm meeting her on Tuesday, and everything she told me sounded perfect, she only has one or two other children (which is perfect, that is what I wanted) and that she likes to spend time with them, doing educational activities, and field trips, spend lots of time outdoors. The money was right, the location is perfect, just down around the corner. So lets hope that Tuesday will be amazing and that I get my sense of peace back!

Well I better start working on the main level cleaning wise. Thanksgiving will be fun. We're heading to my parents for Saturday and Sunday, I'm hoping to go for a hike on the Bruce trail, and I'm looking forward to stuffing!!

This morning was quite the sight. Hockley has started to find Caleb interesting now that he's crawling, I would notice that she would watch him and follow him. But this morning, Caleb started to clue in that she was there. It was so funny because Hockley was getting Caleb to follow her. He was all over the place upstairs, in and out of all the rooms. I could hear him crawling all over the place so I started to watch what was going on. Hockley would run into one room, and Caleb would chase her. Then she would jump over him, and then stop until he was able to turn around and see her, and she would then walk into another room. She did this for a long while, Caleb was huffing and puffing from all that activity! Finally she ended it by jumping up on our bed.

Right now she's sitting on my scrap table while Caleb is in his chair watching einstein. She likes him!

Last night I went out with my friends from work to see 3:10 to Yuma. It was soooo great! I love Russell! Even though it was a "shoot em up" movie, it was so good. It was good to get out and be with the girls again. But man, when it's late, my mind becomes mush! I brought up things more than once, forgetting that I already said that! Then if I had something exciting to share, my words got all jumbled! Jeepers! I feel like I'm an early alzeimers patient! Oh well!

Not much on the go today. Dave is going to his co-workers tonight to watch hockey after work, so it's going to be a long day. I'll have to watch all the shows I taped from last night, Rick Mercer, House, Beauty and the Geek and The Tudors. Tonight it's America's Next Top Model, man, sad isn't it!

Welcome October

I am enjoying this nice fall weather. But life hasn't seemed to slow down, and I guess it probably never will. Well it might when I get back to work and have my slow days! This past week was a full one. Monday we started Starfish lessons again. This time Christa and Cara are taking them with us. The instructor this time around is not good at all. Actually it was scary! She had us dunk the babies right at the very beginning, the other instructor did not do that at all. I will see how this week goes, and if it's the same instructor and she does things the same way, then I will go and complain to the centre. I mean there are 3 month old babies in our class, you don't just dunk them, there should be some kind of explaination on how to and when to. YIKES!

The rest of the week went by so fast, it's just a blur now. I'm really happy about my scrapbooking, I've got lots done. Although last night I sat at the computer and looked at the ones I still need to develope, I think it will be a never ending scrapbooking job at the rate I take pictures! Friday I went to see Amy and Yvonne. It was great seeing them, Amy, thanks for the really yummy pizza! Saturday we had a wedding to go to, it was nice. Fern and Mert babysat. Caleb is keeping us all busy. He's exploring new things. Pulling himself up, I even caught him on the third step going upstairs! What a boy, loves his balls, and toys with wheels! It's fun!

Well another new week. Today we have swimming, then tomorrow night I'm going to the movies with my friends from work. Thursday I might have Benji for the day, other than that I'm sure that I'll be busy!
