I thought about this long and without much effort and decided to try this, seeing how I enjoy reading some of my friends blog, why not give them the pleasure as well??? We'll see...

The Past Week - A Blur
I can't believe we're back to a Monday already! Both Dave and I have the day off, so it's nice. We aren't doing much, we're going to his parents place tonight for dinner. Caleb has a pretty bad cold, so today seems to be a long one.
Last week went by just so fast, I was so tired by Friday! Tuesday we had Dave's parents in for dinner. Then that night the baby sitter called and couldn't take Caleb on Wednesday due to a family emergency. So Dave stayed home with him, and I starte work at 7am so I could leave early. Dave was going to Buffulo that night for a hockey game, so he needed me home by 3. I got there and then took Caleb to his Valentine's party that our sitter had arranged with a friend. There, Caleb was not happy. In fact he threw his first series of temper tantrums! I had no idea how to deal with them, so it was quite embarrassing, especially when everyone thinks he's the perfect baby! HA! By the time I got home I was exhausted! But Shannon called and was in a pinch and needed someone to watch Jaden while she took Mason to swimming. I said no problem, and it wasn't. Just got a taste of what two will be like! Caleb was a little rough with her, but she's a tough babe!
Ahhh. Thursday. Hmmm, I don't even know what was going on that night. I just know I missed Survivor! I took Friday off because it was my half day. I had to get my car serviced, and then I had an ultrasound in the morning. It was a whirlwind day, because Dave and I also were preparing to go away for the weekend. The ultrasound went well. However, she didn't let me empty my bladder half way through, so the pictures we got weren't so great. But it still was amazing! I have a feeling we're having a girl. I say this only because this one is measuring a bit smaller than Caleb (thank heavens!) and the movements I feel are a much different experience. But, we're going to wait and keep the sex a surprise again.
OH YA! Thursday was Valentine's day and Dave took me to the Keg for dinner. It was very special and yummy. I was so stuffed. He also got me a box of chocolates and a chocolate bar, he knows me so well!
This past weekend we attended a Couples retreat away at MBC. It was really nice to get away. Dave has never been to MBC before, so he wasn't sure what he was getting into! I just was looking forward to the food! ha ha ha! There was a life coaching couple there that held a few sessions on how God intended marriage. It was really neat, we found out that Dave and my true colours are complete opposite (not much of a surprise to us) and we did a little bit about our Love Languages. It was a great weekend. We met some really neat couples. It was a close and personal retreat as there was only about 6 couples who attended. But I got a massage from a MT who came in and we got to spend some quality time alone with eachother. And as always the food was so amazing! Mmmmm mmmmm good! My parents were great, they came and stayed at our place to watch Caleb. It was so great.

Yes It's Friday!
I made it through an entire week! Hooray! I've been feeling good. After last week, I ended up getting my prescription filled for Diclectin, and I've been taking it ever since and things seem much better. Plus I have my energy back, although I do get tired really easy. I have had a couple of 20 minute naps after supper. Monday night I went to the pool to do some laps. Because I've been having pelvic pain with this pregnancy, the doctor warned me not to do much walking in the snow as that can aggrevate that region, so I headed to the pool to get that recharged feeling. I haven't done laps in a very long time. I went with the idea that if I can do 15 laps, then I'm o.k. Well let me tell you. After only 4, I thought I was going to die! So I took it slow, by lap #8 I thought well, if I manage to do 10, then that isn't so bad. At 10, I looked at the clock and only 15 mins had gone by! So I did my 15 and then a few really leisure laps, I felt so great after that!
Tuesday was a day full of mixed feelings. My mom emails me eveyday at work, and that day she emailed the good news of the sale of their house in town, but then she said they would look for something and move off the farm. I knew all along that this was plan, but when I actually read those words, it started to really sink in. I've lived my whole life there, and to know that one day soon my connection to it would be gone is really sad. I get quick flashbacks of all the wonderful memories I've had there, and I've cried over it a few times already. Just thinking of it now brings a tear to my eye. Anyway, that night I got home and talked to my Dad on the phone and I then learned that Dr. Lindsay passed away that morning. Again, my heart ached. We knew this day would come too, but just seems so much!
Caleb is walking all over now, still there is often the occasion to crawl because he's in a hurray, but day by day he progressively goes further. It's exciting! He's a funny guy too. He now laughs at me when I say in a serious tone "No", it takes everything in me not to laugh when he laughs. But persistance is the key, and he'll learn what he can and can't touch! His new game is to stand behind me while I'm sitting on the floor and have me shake my head, and then he shakes his head then laughs himself to the floor! He also grabs certain shaped toys, puts them in my mouth and squeals with delight when I spit them across the room!
Tonight is a girls night for me! I can't wait. I'm going to see Fool's Gold with 4 of my friends. Then tomorrow I think we're going to head to O'ville, depending the weather will be o.k. Not much planned for Sunday, but that's alright! I've been feeling the baby move. Although my mind plays games on me, this movement is different than with Caleb. So I second guess if it is in fact the baby or not. But with in the last 2 days, the movement has gotten stronger. I go for my ultrasound next Friday, I'll be almost 20 weeks! Almost 1/2 way there! Amazing!
Well that's all folks....

Will I ever get a full weeks of work in??
Well, this week has been a trying one! Yesterday all day, I was feeling quite sick. Very nauseous but I was at work, thinking that I'm going to have to get my prescription for diclectin filled because this day was just terrible. It progressively got worse, so I went to my boss and asked if I could go home at 2:30, and she said of course. I got home and threw up. Then I found my prescription and went to the pharmacy and got it filled. Then I got home just in time to throw up again! From there on out, it was bad. I knew this was more than being pregnant. I called Dave and asked if he could leave work early and get Caleb, and he did. I was throwing up so much, nothing would stay down. I think the last time I threw up was 2:30am this morning. Then I stayed home today to just rest. My body is sore all over. Dave worked from home today to look out for me, which was nice, because I felt so weak. But I'm feeling so much better now. Except I could use a new body!
Ahhh, so with last weeks awful cold to this weeks illness, I'm done with being sick. I'm praying for sunshine and daisies from here on out!
I'm looking so forward to Lost starting tomorrow night. Although, I don't know if I'll be able to stay awake for the whole show. Tonight they are showing the season finale from last season so I'll have to catch that to remind myself what happened! But I'm really looking forward to that.
Today we got the fridge we ordered for the basement. It's a tight fit, but I think it looks great. Just what we were hoping for.
Well I think I'll go and rest for a bit. Caleb is enjoying an episode of Einstein while Dave is out getting his hair cut. Caleb is almost walking. He's taking 4-5 steps in a row, but only when he feels like it. He does a lot of standing up too. It won't be long before he's going to have us chase him! Look OUT!!

It's been a Very Long Time!
Well, it's been a very long time since I have updated this thing. Mostly because my life has been a whirlwind. I guess the biggest news I have to share, I'll do first as this is the main reason why my life is insane. I'm having another baby. July 7th is when we expect this little one to arrive. I have to admit, this has been an emotional ride for me, as I don't feel quite emotionally prepared to deal with this. But I'm getting used to the idea. We found out in October, and from there on out, I feel like I've been in the valley as far as life goes. I've been sick which isn't unusual, but paired with that has been pelvic pain and stress. I even had a visit to the hospital one night as my pain was quite bad. But it all ended up being pulled muscles. I had an early physical so I could be referred to my OB sooner than later, and because of that, I wasn't able to hear a heartbeat until yesterday. 16 1/2 weeks without hearing that heartbeat played games with my mind. But at my appointment yesterday, all worries were put to rest I got to hear that little heartbeat. I've been very emotional this time too. I was terrified to tell my boss, as soon as I went in her office to let her know, I started to cry. I'm such a people pleaser, that I feel like I've let her down. But she laughed at me for feeling that way, and of course she's thrilled for me.
So with that underlying everything, I have endured an emotional Christmas with Caleb and his hand, New Years with Dave and his flu that made him pass out, my baby news leaking out before I wanted it to (with Dave's family), and now I've been suffering with a pretty bad cold. I'm tired. Ahhh. But I feel excited, now that I know that things are good in the baby department. And I've told my ob that I don't want to have another 11 pounder!! ha ha ha.
I got out for a girls night last Sunday, and we went to see 27 Dresses. It was so cute. Plus a night out like that was much needed. I think the only joy I've had this winter is getting out on my brother's skidoo for a ride. I'm hoping that maybe tomorrow I can do that again! I have been really neglectful when it comes to posting pictures too. I will post the picture we took of Caleb announcing our news that we gave to our parents.
Caleb has been loving his baby-sitter. Monday was the first day that when I took him from Christa's arms, he cried. You can't imagine how sad I felt. But I quickly realized that this was bound to happen. Dave tells me how he squeals with excitment when he drops him off in the morning, so I knew it was coming! He's almost walking, he takes only one hand and walks with us, and he loves that. He plays peek a boo with his ears instead of his eyes, which makes us laugh and he chatters away in some kind of baby language, he wants to talk so much! We're having fun with him.
I think that's about it. Well I'm sure there is lots more that I have forgotten. But oh well!

2008
What can I say? So far 2008 has sucked! Last week was a toughy for me. I feel like life is throwing me lots of depressing challenges and I'm just scraping by. Dave got really sick with the flu. He even passed out and hit his head, I was totally freaking out, crying! So I stayed home last wednesday to take care of him. I took Caleb to the sitters, mainly to get him out of the germs. Thursday I got up extra early (which is always a killer for me) and took Caleb to the sitters and headed to work. I then had to leave at 11:30am to pick Caleb up and take him to O'ville for his doctor's appt. WHen I got him, Christa told me that he was running a fever. GREAT! That was all I needed! While the doctor was happy with the progress on his hand, he was letting me down with the "maybe in 2 days you'll see Caleb become sick, knowing what his dad is currently going through" That was all I needed, more sickness to look forward to. Friday again, another early start to get Caleb to the sitters then to work. But Friday was my half day, so that was good. Dave was on the mend by that time, and Caleb's fever was on and off all day. I blame it all on his teeth. The last couple of nights have been terrible, up and down with Caleb all night.
So far, today has been a good start to this week. Lets hope things keep getting on the brighter side of things! Dave sent me some flowers at work thanking me for looking after him, which was really sweet. But my silly co-worker, decided to ask me in a very loud voice "why is he sending you these, did you have sex with him or something???" Man, if getting the flowers to begin with was embarassing enough! ha ha ha, but pay back is in the works....I plan on buying her some flowers with a card attached saying "thanks for the hot steamy night last night" and have them delivered to her!
Anyway, when I'm more in the mood I'll have to post some pictures of Christmas and etc. But I'm just so tired. The bed is calling my name!

Christmas 2007
Our Christmas was good except a few major things! Caleb sustained a 2nd degree burn on his left hand on Christmas eve. He decided to touch my parents fireplace. It happened around noon that day, so thank goodness we were able to get in to see our doctor as opposed to having to go to emerg. She couldn’t do much for him, cream and dressings were not an option since he would either lick or tear off anything. So she prescribed codeine for him, which we gave to him that night. He was a trooper and still is. It really ballooned up in blisters, which they slowly oozed, and yet he still managed to crawl around on his hand. Never gave him anymore codeine because on Christmas day he broke out in a huge rash. So he was fine with just Tylenol. We still give him that because now that it’s drying up and such, I think it bothers him. We were back to the doctors on Thursday and she said that it doesn’t look so terrible and assured us that she has seen much worse and usually on both hands. We have to go again next week so she can make sure that it will heal properly with not much scars. Ahhhh, it has been an exhausting Christmas! I dont' think there is any thing worse in this world than to see your child suffer.
Other than this, it was a good Christmas. Everyone was spoiled, we have so many toys for Caleb, I don't even know where to begin to put them! Dave and I have been off this week, and it's been nice to just relax with him and Caleb, we haven't done that in a long time. We've had breakfast out with friends, and I even tried a new casserole and invited some friends over to try it. Tomorrow, Dave and I are going to have a date. After church we're going to leave Caleb with his parents and enjoy a late lunch and then go to the movies. I think we're going to see National Treasure #2. We purchased Harry Potter the other day and I think we're going to watch that tonight.
I'm sad for this week to be over. It means I have to go back to work and this time, there isn't a week holiday in sight. That makes it difficult to leave Caleb all over again. But I have to deal with it, suck it up!
We don't have many plans to ring in the new year this time around. I'm fine with this. New Years is over rated I think! I'll ring it in probably at 9pm and then go to bed! Life of an old lady I guess!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, (less scary than mine anyway!)

Santa Claus

Here's the little guy, meeting Santa for the first time. This Santa was at the Eaton Centre. It was cute seeing Caleb look at him, he liked his beard.
The storm they are all talking about is sad. I normally would love a big snow storm, usually I say, bring it on! But tomorrow is the big party day for Caleb. It won't be the same if my family can't make it. So I'm hoping that they are all wrong about the storm and that it really "blows over" so we miss it!

I Made it Through The First Week
It totally was not easy! My days were long and I was really tired by the time I got Caleb in bed after a day. I think I'm neither a morning or a night person anymore. I never was a morning person, so getting up at 6:30am and rushing around getting myself ready and then Caleb, wears me out. But now when 8pm rolls around I'm grumbly and ready for bed! So most nights I was in bed by 9pm. But that's reasonable. As for the emotional side of things...it is very difficult. Monday wasn't so bad, but Tuesday was rough and Wednesday even harder. Thursday was o.k. because the end was in sight. Plus things weren't working out as I had thought in the workwise. My boss originally told me that I wouldn't have to start right into things, that she had a special project for me to do that I would work on for December. Well it turns out it's not as big as she thought and it will only take me a few days to do. So I was handed a folder of my normal work load which dated back to October! That was depressing. And it wasn't easy stuff, alot of it was crap that didn't get done because there was more worked involved! Ack! But on the good side of things, Caleb loves his sitter. She just is amazed at how well he does, even when it comes to naps, she puts him down and he's out, she loves that! He'll eat anything and try anything, which makes it easier too. Plus he loves watching the other kids and playing with their dog. So I'm so happy for that. She even sent us home with an event calendar with theme days and activity days so we know what he'll be up to. Tomorrow is Favourite Book Day, so we're sending him with "Crazy Caterpillers" one he currently loves looking at.
Plus my coworkers are thrilled to have me back. We've done lots of catch up and lots of laughing, so that's good.
This week is a crazy busy one! Caleb is turning one on Thursday! But that's my work party, so I won't get to see him much, but we're having his big bash on Sunday. Ahhh, so I have to get everything prepared for that, on top of work and everything, it's really tough! I have Friday off, but we're heading to O'ville for Caleb's dr. appt. and we'll stay for the day to see the family.
Anyway, I have a gut feeling that tomorrow is really going to be hard. So please pray for me...

Less Than 12 Hours
I don't know if any of you have experienced this feeling before. I feel like it's the night before the first day of school. I never liked school, so I always dreaded having to go back. I would get this anxious feeling down in my gut that just wasn't good. Well that's what I'm feeling now, but it's not about school obviously, it's about work. I have to start bright and early tomorrow at 7:30am. I guess it's not as bad as it was when I was younger, but it's just sad to think that my time as being a stay at home mom is over.
This past week I kept thinking about it all, and I tried to make the most of my few days. Dave took Thursday and Friday off, so Wednesday night we headed to Toronto and spent a couple of nights there and shopped. It was nice to get out and do stuff like that. I don't really like the city. This time, while walking to the Eaton Centre, a homeless man started walking with us, he kept looking at Caleb. Then he started to offer me a loonie and told me to get him so milk. I turned him down, and he just kept presisting. I didn't know how to get rid of him, so I ended up saying that he needed it more than we do. I guess it wasn't the most polite thing to say, and he ended up saying to me in an angry voice "you think you know my pocket troubles do you??" All I could do was apoligize. Toronto is definately a step out of my comfort zone, and I find myself clutching all my belongings much closer while I'm there.
We got a lot of shopping done. Caleb even got to sit on Santa's lap. He was a good boy and actually smiled for the photo. Yesterday was my work Christmas party for the kids. It was our first time going. It was a very simple party, Caleb didn't have much to do, we just waited for Santa and he got his present. He got a winnie the pooh phone and a bath toy. Then I didn't do much for the remaining part of the weekend. Last night Dave and I watched Transformers. It actually made me laugh out loud, probably wasn't supposed to be funny, but the whole time, I kept thinking "who knew this was going to be a comedy!"
I think I might go to bed early tonight. I have to get up earlier than I'm used to, and I'm a little afraid of how things will go, so hopefully sleeping on it will make things better. Sweet dreams, please!

Caleb's Daycare Trial Day
Dave worked from home today so he could come along with us to Caleb's daycare and meet Christa, the lady who will be taking care of our little. We went for 11am, and we got him in and put him down, he was a little unsure of things, but with the dog around, he was very curious. So we left him there, after he went gladly in Christa's arms. As I was getting into the truck, Dave says "Ahhh he thinks she's his new mom, how does that make you feel?" Grrrr, I told him that was a very mean thing to say! While Caleb was there, I got to cleaning the house and moving things around to make way for the Christmas tree which I hope to put up tomorrow.
We then went back at 1:00 to pick Caleb up, we went in and chatted to see how things went. Well, he made art! She got paint out and he put it on his hands and made us a picture! I was so thrilled! Then he had 1/2 a turkey sandwich, some fruit, cheese and yogurt for lunch. A big boy lunch! She read him stories which he loves, and that was it. He was so happy when we got there, he was happy to see us, but he was having a blast with all the new and different toys. So I'm releaved that everything went so well. I just hope that when it comes time for me to pick him up, he won't be sad to leave there!
Tomorrow night, we're heading to Toronto for a couple of days. We're going to shop at the Eaton Centre for Christmas, and try to get Caleb with Santa! It should be lots of fun. Saturday we are taking Caleb to my work's Kid's Christmas party, that should be fun too!

My Baby is Becoming a Little Boy
Caleb is 11 Month's quickly becoming 1 year old! I can't believe it. Where has this year gone? I know I keep saying this, but it's because I keep thinking about it! I have a variety of pictures to mark his 11 months. Today, in the snow, I took him out to check it out, and I got some great shots.

I'm trying to make the most out of my few days left I have with him. And cherish the moments, even the ones that drive me crazy sometimes!
Well he's finally sleeping for his morning nap, which means I need to take advantage of this time and get myself showered!

3 weeks and counting
That's right. I only have 3 weeks left of my maternity leave, then I'm heading back to work. I'm feeling a little sad about this. But at the same time, I know it will be good for me, and December will probably fly by fast, I'm only working 4 days a week in Dec. and on top of that, there's Christmas parties and lunches to attend, it will be fine.
I'm sad because I know how much I'm going to miss my baby. I'm sad that I won't know what he will be doing all the time. I might miss his first steps. But I don't want to dwell on this. It won't be for forever.
Last week was fun. On Wednesday I went to my parents place and stayed over night. Them my parents came with me and Caleb to the Royal Winter Fair. It was nice to go, not sure if me expectations were met, but Caleb did so good at being stuck in the stroller for the day. He did get a kick out of the animals, so that was good.
Christmas shopping is well underway. We have several people knocked off our list already and we only have a few left to shop for. My only issue is finding something for Dave. I have a problem because I want to make everything meaningful. Then I get stuck trying to think of that one super special gift, and I run out of time! Hopefully I will be able to pull off something great!
I wasted a good 2 hours and 13 minutes of my life watching Knocked Up. Who makes a stupid, vulgar comedy that long anyway?? Then later on Dave and I watched Spiderman 3. That was alright.
This coming week I'm going to be stressed out! This weekend is such a busy one. Friday night we have a couple coming over for dessert, then Saturday I'm hosting my mom's 60th b-day party and then on Sunday we have some people coming over for lunch. Yikes, I'll be tired come Monday!
Well we're off to Starfish this morning. Caleb just loves it. He splashes the whole time. Last week him and Cara were splashing eachother, it was so funny!

Oh So Tired.
I don't even know where I left off. And I don't even really feel like typing, I just feel tired. But it's nice and easy when the computer sits right on your lap. Almost 4 weeks left until returning to work. I don't like thinking about this. Christmas is only 7 weeks away, I like thinking about that. Shoot me if you dare, but I'm wishing for a white Christmas. We'll see if God comes through on that one.
I've been to the movies lots! I've seen The Heartbreak Kid, We Own the Night AND Dan In Real Life. I liked all three, but I especially liked Dan in Real Life. Wow, that was 3 movies in a week! I had coupons I wanted to use up!
Last night was Halloween fun! Caleb was a cute Skunk. He was so absolutely adorable. We went Trick or treating with Christa, Steve and Cara. Cara was a kangaroo, very sweet she was! They were a hit. Dave stayed home to hand out candy and he kept a tally of visitors, and we had almost 75. I thought we would have had more. Oh well.
Tuesday night I had a tupperware party to attend. It was a "been there, done that" kind of experience, but it was fun. After I got home, Dave and I carved our pumpkin and we even roasted the seeds. It was good times!
Now Caleb was crawling around naked, I need to go and put his p.j.'s on.
Hold On
Ahhh, to sleep he is. He's such a cutie. I have decided that he says a few things. For sure his first words are "All Done" he says it like "ahhl da" and he says Dad, and Hi Dad. No da da, or daddy, just Dad. It's so sweet.
Anyway, I think I shall go now. I will post Caleb's halloween shots soon.

What Would you Do?
So we had a terrible Saturday night. Our neighbour was playing their music outrageously loud. So at 3:30am, I got fed up and I called the police. In about 15 minutes the music shut off, so I went to the window to see, and sure enough there was 2 police cars parked in the street. Well, the cops weren't even gone when the music came up really loud again! So I took my stuff and moved to the basement to sleep. Well Dave ended up calling the police back at 5am, and reported them again, they said the first time, they just gave them a warning. But then at 6am the music finally shut off, but we later found out that the police didn't come back until 6:30am, when it was quiet. I was in tears I was so angry! The first time I decided to call the cops, nothing happened, we still had a sleepless night! I was all ready to move! Next time this happens, we will be calling every 1/2 hour until something is done, or charges laid. This is our home and I don't care what our stupid neighbour thinks of us! What would you guys do??
Anyway, on a happier note, Friday night girls night was fun. It was good to catch up with everyone. Then Satuday afternoon Dave and I took Caleb to a pumpkin patch. It was so neat. We got a few great shots.

Then Sunday Dave and I left Caleb with Dave's parents while we went to Stratford for the day. We went and saw An Ideal Husband by Oscar Wilde, it was very funny! We parked along the river and walked to the theatre and then after the play we walked downtown to find a restaurant. We ate at Pazzo, it was a pizzeria and it was very yummy! Then we strolled back along the river to the car. We even stopped at Dairy Queen on our way home. It was a very lovely day to spend with my husband. Now it's Monday and things are back to normal! After I'm done this, I'll, be getting ready for a swim with Caleb. And since the weather is so lovely out I'll probably take Caleb to the park after lunch, or after dinner, we'll see how swimming goes, he's not napping right now, so we'll see how the afternoon goes! Tomorrow night I'm going to meet my friend Valerie and go to the movies. I'm really looking forward to that as well!

Ten Months, Ninth Tooth
My little baby is 10 months old! He is getting to be quite the handful. He makes me laugh because his new hobby is trying to lick the t.v. screen, and I always say, "No Caleb, Don't touch." and he laughs everytime I pull him away. And then he bolts back to it. My goal is to be persistant, because I know that he'll eventually know not to touch it. Boy, Persistance is hard work!
Today I was at my parents place and took Caleb's "10 month" pictures. I tried taking them on Saturday, but he was so snotty and drooly, that they didn't quite work. This past Friday was very difficult. He cried all morning, and it was a differnt cry, it was a cry of pain. I rocked him and cried with him, I had no idea how to make him feel better. Christa came by with her ear termometer and thank goodness he didn't have a fever. But it still didn't solve anything. Then talking to Shannon, she suggested teeth. I completely forgot about teeth as an issue, because he already has 8. But I gave him tylenol, and he finally settled down to normal by late afternoon. It wasn't until yesterday that I was able to catch a glimpse of tooth #9 poking through. Poor guy!
Here's a couple of pictures of my handsome baby. Ahhh he's just so adorable!

This last one is especially one of my favourites, the whole drool, snot and tongue view! I take just way too many pictures, then I sit at the computer going through them constantly, over and over again, trying to figure out which ones I want to get developed, which ones I should blow up, and yikes, I end up developing way too many! I love my pictures!

baby it's cold outside
Now this is the type of fall weather I'm talking about. This past weekend was way too hot! Despite the humid temperature we had a great weekend. On Friday night we had Dave's co-worker Rob and his family over for dinner. It was a lot of fun. Then Saturday morning we packed up and headed to my parents. While there Dave and I managed to explore the bush where I used to play as a child. It was so over grown that we couldn't go the way that was once my path. It was neat to check out the water hole with him. Then my parents looked after Caleb while we had a date. We went into Orangeville and watched the movie The Kingdom. It was really good. Typical for me, I cried in it. Not so much because of the story, but because of fear. I caught a glimpse of how life can be for some countries and I worried about the future, and what it holds for our children. Anyway, it was nice to just have a date night out, and Dave held my hand! he he he.
Sunday we took Caleb and my mom to Hockley Bible Chapel for church. It was so great to see everyone. Caleb was the only baby there (doesn't appear to have young families there) so as I was leaving to take Caleb to the nursery, Pastor Mark recruited Treva to look after him for me. Then his wife Kimberley came and helped Treva look after him! ha ha ha. After church we headed home for the Thanksgiving festivities and we also celebrated my Dad and brother's birthday. We managed to get outdoors again and snap a few (like 200) pictures of us and the fall leaves. Here a just a few....

We returned home that night and on Monday we hiked with Mike and Joy on a 7km trail. It was so hot! Then Mike, Joy, Fern and Mert were over for dinner. Dave and I made chili and homemade garlic bread for dinner, and Mike and Joy brought pumpkin pie and oreo cheesecake. It was very yummy.
Yesterday I resolved my baby sitting issue. I met with the lady, Christa is her name. And she seems so great. I'm so releaved and happy about everything. Actually I think this is for the better, Caleb will have lots of fun and attention there. I'm still really nervous about returning to work, the time seems to be creeping up so fast. But Christmas is on it's way too, and that is something I can look forward to.

Big Sighs
These past 48 hours have been crazy! I've been so busy and emotional, I'm seeing double currently and am suffering with a mild head ache. Today I've been on the go. I got up early, showered, got Caleb up and ready for the day and we were at IGA at 8:05am to get the things we need for tonight and this weekend. Then after Caleb's 35 minute nap, I rushed down to the new park to meet Shannon and the kiddies. There I got to visit with Shannon while pushing Caleb on the swing. Then I rushed back home to get Caleb in the car and on our way to work. I had to stop in today so I could chose Caleb's Christmas present. The company lets us go throught the Home Hardware toy catalogue and pick out a $25 gift for your child. So I got 2 things, a Winnie the Pooh phone and bath toys. While there I was surrounded, my child was the centre of attention for quite a while! Then home again for lunch and I've begun the process of cleaning the house. Caleb is supposed to be napping right now, but I hear him chatting away, probably to his prayer bear. Tonight we are having Dave's co-worker Rob and his family over for dinner. That's a lot of work!
Yesterday I was a wreck. I got a message on the machine in the morning from the lady I had lined up to take Caleb for us in December. She left a message to say that she feels she has too much on her plate and can't take Caleb. I flipped out, I cried, I didn't know what to do. I emailed Dave to tell him, then I emailed Lesa to tell her and to get some help. Lesa had recommended this lady to me, so she felt bad, but she came through with lots of names for me to try. None of them she knew, we were going on recommendations only. I again struggled over this, because I didn't know any of them, plus I hated the thought of calling all these people and being turned down, or finding out they have sooo many kids. I called Shannon and bless her heart she said she would take him if we needed her to. But I called only one lady, the one lady who seemed to have the best reviews, and praise the Lord, she said she can take him. I'm meeting her on Tuesday, and everything she told me sounded perfect, she only has one or two other children (which is perfect, that is what I wanted) and that she likes to spend time with them, doing educational activities, and field trips, spend lots of time outdoors. The money was right, the location is perfect, just down around the corner. So lets hope that Tuesday will be amazing and that I get my sense of peace back!
Well I better start working on the main level cleaning wise. Thanksgiving will be fun. We're heading to my parents for Saturday and Sunday, I'm hoping to go for a hike on the Bruce trail, and I'm looking forward to stuffing!!

This morning was quite the sight. Hockley has started to find Caleb interesting now that he's crawling, I would notice that she would watch him and follow him. But this morning, Caleb started to clue in that she was there. It was so funny because Hockley was getting Caleb to follow her. He was all over the place upstairs, in and out of all the rooms. I could hear him crawling all over the place so I started to watch what was going on. Hockley would run into one room, and Caleb would chase her. Then she would jump over him, and then stop until he was able to turn around and see her, and she would then walk into another room. She did this for a long while, Caleb was huffing and puffing from all that activity! Finally she ended it by jumping up on our bed.
Right now she's sitting on my scrap table while Caleb is in his chair watching einstein. She likes him!
Last night I went out with my friends from work to see 3:10 to Yuma. It was soooo great! I love Russell! Even though it was a "shoot em up" movie, it was so good. It was good to get out and be with the girls again. But man, when it's late, my mind becomes mush! I brought up things more than once, forgetting that I already said that! Then if I had something exciting to share, my words got all jumbled! Jeepers! I feel like I'm an early alzeimers patient! Oh well!
Not much on the go today. Dave is going to his co-workers tonight to watch hockey after work, so it's going to be a long day. I'll have to watch all the shows I taped from last night, Rick Mercer, House, Beauty and the Geek and The Tudors. Tonight it's America's Next Top Model, man, sad isn't it!

Welcome October
I am enjoying this nice fall weather. But life hasn't seemed to slow down, and I guess it probably never will. Well it might when I get back to work and have my slow days! This past week was a full one. Monday we started Starfish lessons again. This time Christa and Cara are taking them with us. The instructor this time around is not good at all. Actually it was scary! She had us dunk the babies right at the very beginning, the other instructor did not do that at all. I will see how this week goes, and if it's the same instructor and she does things the same way, then I will go and complain to the centre. I mean there are 3 month old babies in our class, you don't just dunk them, there should be some kind of explaination on how to and when to. YIKES!
The rest of the week went by so fast, it's just a blur now. I'm really happy about my scrapbooking, I've got lots done. Although last night I sat at the computer and looked at the ones I still need to develope, I think it will be a never ending scrapbooking job at the rate I take pictures! Friday I went to see Amy and Yvonne. It was great seeing them, Amy, thanks for the really yummy pizza! Saturday we had a wedding to go to, it was nice. Fern and Mert babysat. Caleb is keeping us all busy. He's exploring new things. Pulling himself up, I even caught him on the third step going upstairs! What a boy, loves his balls, and toys with wheels! It's fun!
Well another new week. Today we have swimming, then tomorrow night I'm going to the movies with my friends from work. Thursday I might have Benji for the day, other than that I'm sure that I'll be busy!

Polls
I just got a call from the Liberal party wanting to know if they have my vote. Since I've left BookLore, I feel so out of the loop when it comes to political stuff. I try my best to stayed informed, between watching "Harry the Bunny" and my fun shows like America's Next Top Model! I know who I'm voting for, but I like to have reasons behind my choices.
Caleb is all over the place. His favourite room to play in now is the bathroom. He makes a beeline for it when I get him down to play. I think it's because of the bath. He totally loves his bath times, and when the water is running to fill it up, he sits on the mat while I get him ready and undressed. He loves getting in when the water is still filling up, he likes to get his hands in the running water. Boy is he a big splasher, everything gets soaked! Oh I can hear him now, playing with the door stopper. It sounds like he's not sure if he likes it or not. He flings it and then wimpers, it's quite funny to hear! During his morning nap I discovered him sleeping without his soother, but his thumb, as adorable as it looked, I'm not sure if I like him wanting his thumb rather than the soother. Soothers are more disposable when the time comes!

That's him sleeping. Notice the forgotten soother...

This is him looking at me like "Come on Mom, where's the water??"
I've still been scrapbooking away. Some of the pages I do, I don't like so much. I don't know if it's because that day I wasn't creative or what. In the end, I tell myself that atleast it's done, it looks much better as it is, rather than in a photo album.
This past week has been busy. Monday Shannon had her baby. A little girl, named Jaden Keera, weighing 8 lbs 16 oz! She's cute, with chubby cheeks! Tuesday I went to my parents and stay until Wednesday. On Wednesday I went with my mom to Newmarket to shop, I wasn't very successful though. Then Wednesday night I went and met Jaden, ahhh holding a new born can be very dangerous! Yesterday I had Sally and the girls over with her sister Deb and her 2 girls. We had lunch and then wandered around St. Jacobs. I never go there anymore, and I think I should go more often. I found an awesome toy store there called Toy Soup. It's so cool, and has lots of neat things that don't require batteries which is a huge bonus!
Today we're just chilling out at home. Tonight we are going into Waterloo and meeting Steve, Christa and Cara for dessert somewhere, probably East Sides. As for the weekend, we're going to a bbq tomorrow and then I'm taking Caleb with me to my cousin's in O'ville on Sunday after church. She's having a Signature Homes party. Like I've said before, the time goes sooooo fast!

Can't Sleep
It's 6:30am and I couldn't sleep. Although this isn't an unusual time for people to wake, as I'm sure many people this is their morning rise, but for me it's definately not. The morning looks beautful. Right now the sky is very black, like it's going to storm out, and the roof tops are all white from frost.
I couldn't sleep because I have things running through my mind. Yesterday Dave and I talked about moving things around the house to utilize the space we have. In the past we talked about moving, but more and more now I think we have decided to stay where we are. I love this house and we did a lot of work on it. So I just had thoughts of where to move things in the future.
Yesterday I went out with Christa in the morning to check out a new baby store in Waterloo. The Grand Opening was happening and I got Caleb a cute but very cool pair of sunglasses. Babybanz! ha ha ha. They are army colours! I got a free package of diapers too, some Rabbit brand that I've never heard of. Then we went to Michaels craft store, the scrapbook paper was on sale 3 for $1. After I got home, Dave, Caleb and I went to get groceries and look around Futureshop. Man, grocery shopping on a Saturday afternoon.....let's just say I'll never do it again! We bought the X-Files season 1 on dvd. We watched the first 2 episodes after Caleb was in bed!
Today we have church, I have nursery duty. Then we're heading to my parents. Benji is going to Calgary for the week for work, I wish I could go with him, that would be fun. So either Dave or I will run down with my Dad to take Benji to the airport. Then, Sally's sister Deb and her 2 girls are over for a week. So they will be out at my parents for dinner later on tonight.
Oh my neck is pretty stiff. Must have slept on it wrong. Well it's almost 7am, I'm going to crawl back into bed now I think.

9 Months, Too Adorable!
He's GORGEOUS!

He's on the move so much now! Our doctor's visit yesterday was great. She's so happy with him, and he's still growing, his weight gain has slowed down, but he's still growing in height. He's in the 95th percentile for height and now in the 90th for weight, he's still a big guy for his age, but he's perfect!

Fall is Knocking at the Door!
Well I love these cool days, and I can see the colours starting to turn. I love that the warm clothes gets to come out and socks and shoes. But I did realize that I need to go shopping, I need new shoes and jeans and some more up to date shirts! So maybe tomorrow I'll go to O'ville and stay with my parents, go shopping in Newmarket, that would be fun.
Thursday Caleb has his 9mth doctor's appt. After that we're going to my cousins to meet their new little guy, Spencer. Can't wait for that.
Caleb is crawling everywhere! It's so cute and fun! But the other day, someone told me that he's lost his baby looks, and now looks like a big boy. That kind of made me sad. But he'll be my baby forever!
This past saturday we had baseball. We had to play 4 games. OUCH! I was so sore by Saturday night. But I must say, that I played the best baseball for a long time. I got onto base everytime, and I even did well in the outfield, catching balls! I was so happy with myself. My parents were here for the weekend to help with Caleb, it was nice having them stay the night.
Since last Wednesday I have made a commitment to scrapbook a page for Caleb's book every day (minus the weekends) and so far I've been doing well. I need to majorly get caught up, yesterday I went to the store to get more papers, and this afternoon I probably will go to Shannon's and scrap a page with her help. I find that I would stress out about a page because of all the details, but then when I decided that it doesn't have to have details, it made it a lot more appealing to me.
Well I better get Caleb some breakfast.

Bad Days
Last week I had a series of bad days. On my girls weekend away (which was so much fun!) Sunday I developed a sore throat. By the time I got home I just cried! It progressively got worse over night and into Monday. When I am sick, I get very emotional, so I did a lot of crying. Dave came home Monday afternoon to work from home and take care of both Caleb and me. He was so good to me, he even went out and got me a milkshake from McDonald's considering that was all I ate that day. Tuesday my Mom came for the day, and Dave also stayed home again. I was well taken care of and I was able to get a doctor's appt. that night in O'ville. Once there I found out I had a bad case of tonsillitis. She gave me a prescription for antibiotics, I ended up staying at my parents for the night and all day Wednesday. I headed home that night and relaxed, by that time at night, I was feeling somewhat better. I could swallow without grinding my teeth.
Thursday I felt so much better, but then later found out that day my aunt passed away. Plus I am now in charge of the toddler nursery at church and man I did a lot of regretting Friday about that, nothing was going the way they needed to be, and I so frustrated and angry that I had another emotional breakdown! Saturday I got up early, went to the church to work on some things, then home to get ready for the funeral. The funeral was nice, but very sad. It brought back memories of other funerals, like my Grandma's, very emotional.
That evening things seem to brighten up. We went to our friends house, they just moved and we got to check out their nice new home. Sunday we got packed and ready to head to Orangeville. We went to East Sides for lunch and then to the Fair. Mmmm they had funnel cakes! Then we went to my parents place. Dave and Caleb stayed behind while I went with my Dad, Benji and Denise back to the fair for the demolition derby. This year's derby was the best one I've ever seen. Cars rolling over, so exciting! We stayed the night at my parents and then celebrated Denise's birthday for lunch on Monday.
This week is going by fast. Tuesday I went out and got Caleb a gate for the top of our stairs since he's become so active. Yesterday I did a big grocery shop and also bought some cute outfits for our little guy. Today we're just taking it easy this morning, then this afternoon I'm going back to the church to tidy up the toddler room. Plus I might go and register Caleb for Starfish swimming again. Tonight I'm going with my sister in law to a Mary Kay event. I get a makeover! I'm excited about that, just the face, not hair. But apparently I'll be entered into a contest. Never thought of myself as pretty for a contest, but Joy see's something in me I guess! ha ha ha, and my cutey husband's line was "how can you makeover perfection?" ha ha ha! He makes me feel pretty.
This weekend we have the agfa ball tournament. My parents are coming for Saturday and Sunday, to look after the little guy. Then baseball will be officially done! Man, then I know summer is over. So sad!

Crawling Caleb
There's been a lot of rolling and sliding backwards and rocking leading upto this day. Crawling! His world will be totally new, and my life will be totally different!

Days Like This
I'm tired today. I haven't done much that is productive. Well that's not completely true, I did 2 loads of laundry and moved Caleb's crib mattress so it's lower now. But I really don't feel like doing much. Even though time drags on, overall the days just fly away. December is going to be here before I know it. It's a tricky feeling because I very much look forward to Christmas, but December also means I have to return to work. My mind is fully prepared to do that right now, but when November rolls around, it may not be so!
This past weekend was lots of fun. Saturday I packed up Caleb's things and we headed to my parents place. I spent most of the day there, then I ended up leaving Caleb with them. I came home (the drive seemed long and lonely!) and Dave and I walked to the main street of Elmira and we had dinner at a pizza place, then we walked to our friend's buck and doe. It was kind of a boring one, but it was good to be out with friends. The next day, we got ourselves ready and headed to Toronto for the day. We saw the Blue Jays beat Baltimore Orioles 2-3 and then found a restaurant on Front street. It was called the Texas Grill and I didn't like it. Our food took forever, I ordered fish and chips and the fish was over done while the fries were a bit soggy! After that we drove home to my parents. We were reunited with Caleb and we spent the night there. On Monday Dave and I were up early and headed to Canada's Wonderland for the day. It was a very cold day. We had fun, it was a rough start, since we had a plan in mind, but the rides we wanted on first weren't up and running, this sucked, because we were going to avoid the ridiculous line ups! Oh well. My new favourite ride is The Italian Job, so much fun! We did Drop Zone, I only second guessed my decision when we were on the very top and it released us, but once down safe and alive, I was glad I did it!
On the way home we did a little detour through Tottenham and stopped at the DQ there, even though I was frozen to my bones, I wouldn't pass up ice cream! ha ha ha. Caleb was a good boy, my parents loved having him over those days. He is almost crawling. I'm excited to see his progress but at the same time, I know what crawling is going to bring us. We will have to baby proof the house soon!
Tonight we have baseball. I'm so glad it's almost over, this team sucks! I just can't get over how fast summer has come and gone. August is almost all gone! This coming weekend I'm going away for a girls weekend. My friends from work are going, I feel a bit sad leaving Dave and Caleb, but I'm also looking forward to catching up with the girls and having some good laughs!
Better go and dust off the ball cleats!

Time keeps ticking on
This summer is just flying by. It's sad really. Caleb is now 8 months old, he's got 8 teeth, keeps getting bigger and bigger, and soon enough he'll be crawling. He currently gets up on his hands and knees and rocks back and forth, and slides backwards so I'm sure it won't take too much longer...
This past few days Dave took Monday and Tuesday off and we went to Durham and stayed at his parents trailer. It was a nice quiet time away. We enjoyed a few walks, feeding chipmunks and a nice lunch in Hanover.
I've attached some pictures I took of Caleb's monthly photo shoot. Not so creative this time. It's getting harder now that he wants to constantly roll around and move. I'll have to get better at shooting action shots! ha ha ha.

One of those days
Have you ever had one of those days where you have a list of things that you know need to get done, but you don't feel like doing any of them. Then you ask yourself what you would like to do, and nothing comes into your mind that excites you, and all you want in that moment is a little bit of excitment? Well that was my day today. I feel like saying "I'm bored" but I can't because I don't have time to be bored. Oh dear!
Our house is getting more and more organized as the days go by. The basement I can say is finally finished. There is a few tiny things that need to be done, but nothing too big to say it's not finished! Monday, Dave and I worked all day on it. It was very frustrating, I hate painting, I really do! When dinner rolled around we dropped Caleb off at the in-laws and Dave took me to East Side Marios. It was so nice to have a mini date with him.
Yesterday Caleb and I took Christa and Cara to Ikea. It was a lot of fun, just looking around, not really having anything in mind to buy. I did come home with a few odds and ends.
So what did I end up doing today? Well, besides the regular mom things (which by the way is so much fun!) I did 3 loads of laundry, folded and put away that. Swept, vacuumed and mopped the main floor, did dishes and hmmmm, watched some t.v. I wanted to go for a walk, but realized that I left the stroller in Dave's truck, whoops! That's o.k. we'll be outside tonight, we have baseball, and Caleb is our biggest fan!
